Dog-friendly Eversley

Eversley is the pretty Hampshire village home to gastro pubs and rural walks

Our Trip

My partner had a weekend training course in Hampshire, and so of course pooch and I took advantage of the opportunity to explore somewhere new!

Sash and I used our alone time to explore the local walks and pop into the market town Farnham. We stomped around the local forests, Fleet Pond and Farnham Park. As you will see from the photos further down, we went visited during a mild, cloudy and gloomy February. I wish that we had visited in spring to see the abundance of plants and animals in the nature reserve.

The highlight of the weekend was our accommodation. We were lucky to find a beautiful little dog-friendly hotel in the village. They have a number of rooms, but I recommend asking for the downstairs room with direct access to the large garden.

If nothing else, you should visit for the Sunday roast – delicious!

Things to do and places to see in Eversley

Being brutally honest, we didn’t find much to do other than walk. Eversley has, and is close to, an abundance of countryside walks. If you’re happy to drive 45 minutes you could visit the Surrey Hills an ‘outstanding area of natural beauty’. Here are some suggestions:

  • Fleet Pond is under 15 mintues drive from Eversley
  • There are lots of places to stop, park your car and enjoy forest walks – here’s a forest good walk in and around Eversley
  • Farnham and Farnham Park are 25 minutes drive from Eversley
  • Surrey Hills are 45 minutes drive from Eversley

Dog-friendly accommodation in Eversley

During our visit we stayed at The Kingsley at Eversley, as described above. A lovely family-run hotel. Which I thoroughly recommend.

There are lots of dog-friendly places to stay in this area (see the usual sites such as booking.com, tripadvisor, etc.). It may be worth looking at Farnham if you want a bit more ‘hustle and bustle’.
